A master plan is a guiding document intended to set forth a community’s vision of its long-term future. At its core, the Master Plan forms the policy foundation for the Township’s land use regulations and serves as a guide for elected officials, municipal staff, business owners, residents, and potential investors to make informed decision in community development affecting land use, transportation, natural resources, and other factors that shape our quality of life. A sound master plan ensures that Monroe Township remains a highly desirable community in which to live, work, and play.
As a first step in gaining feedback from residents and businesses alike as Monroe Township updates its Master Plan, my administration, along with the Master Plan Committee, has launched an online survey focused on future plans for land use, recreation, and infrastructure in the Township. Mayor Rich DiLucia announced that his administration presented the 2021 Municipal Budget to the Township Council with 0% property tax increase. The Township Council adopted the budget at the July 7, 2021 Special Council meeting.
“Many of our Township’s families have been struggling to make ends meet and face ever-increasing costs,” said Mayor DiLucia. “I have worked very hard to make Monroe Township’s government live within its means so we can keep from adding to our citizens’ financial burden. To keep confidence with our taxpayers, my budget for 2021 maintains services, while holding the property tax levy flat.”
Mayor DiLucia worked hard with the Township Administrator, CFO, and Municipal Auditor to devise a responsible, sound budget that will not jeopardize the Township’s future fiscal health. “The Township’s ability to remain intact during this turbulent year is due in part to the Administration’s ongoing fiscal responsibility,” said Mayor DiLucia. “Since becoming Mayor in 2019, my administration has enacted policies that have resulted in decreased spending. Without these changes, three consecutive years without a tax increase wouldn’t have been possible.”
“Despite the unprecedented challenges of COVID-19, Monroe Township has weathered the storm better than expected, allowing us to prevent an increase in municipal taxes that would have placed additional burdens on our taxpayers, added Mayor DiLucia. “This budget reflects my administration’s belief that we have a responsibility to deliver a high level of municipal services efficiently and effectively.”
Mayor Richard DiLucia of Monroe Township is pleased to advise that Walmart and Sam’s Club are administering Moderna COVID-19 vaccines in Williamstown through the state program, and currently have available appointments. Patients 65 and older can make their appointments by calling their local Walmart or Sam’s Club Pharmacy or by calling the New Jersey Senior Hotline at 856.249.7007.
Sam’s Club is located at 2080 Black Horse Pike and Walmart is located at 1840 S. Black Horse Pike.
Completed Vote by Mail Ballots for the 2020 General Election may be returned via drop-off at a secure VBM Ballot Drop Box located at 125 Virginia Avenue, Williamstown, NJ 08094, via USPS mail, via in person delivery at the Gloucester County Office of Elections or via in person delivery at your polling location.
The Township of Monroe will have three (3) polling locations for in-person Provisional Ballot voting (paper ballot voting) from 6:00AM-8:00PM:
