As a precaution to protect the employees and the residents of Monroe Township from the spread of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), all Township Offices will be closed to the public, effective Monday, March 16, 2020.   Limited services will resume on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, with offices still being closed to the public.   

  • Emergency services will continue, following guidelines of Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the State of New Jersey Department of Health.
  • Trash and recycling collection will continue as scheduled.
  • Court sessions are canceled until further notice.
  • Boards and Commissions are canceled until further notice.
  • Public events are canceled until further notice. 
  • Parks and Recreation activities are canceled until further notice.

As some of you may already be aware, the Governor Phil Murphy declared a state of emergency on March 9, 2020 in response to the Corona Virus (COVID-19).Executive Order No. 103 declares a state of emergency and public health emergency across all 21 counties in New Jersey, allowing state agencies and departments to utilize state resources to assist affected communities responding to and recovering from COVID-19 cases.

  • Benefits from the State of Emergency.
  • Prohibits and adds safeguards to protect consumers from “price gouging”
  • Ability to waive certain procurement procedures to expedite the need for necessary resources
  • Empowers State Agencies to take appropriate steps to address COVID-19

Signs and Symptoms of COVID-19 will appear in 2 to 14 days from contact.

  • Shortness of breath
  • Fever
  • Cough
  • What can you do to protect yourself?
  • Stay home when you are sick and contact your Doctor
  • Avoid close contact with sick persons
  • Avoid touching your mouth, nose, and eyes.
  • Wash your hands regularly for at least 20 seconds. This is especially applies when you sneeze, cough, or blow your nose.
  • Cover your mouth when you cough and cover your nose when you sneeze.
  • USE common sense and GOOD hygiene.

REMEMBER, the prevention and practices for COVID-19 are what we should practice every day for the common cold. The links below provide additional information for everyone. We suggest that you make sure that you receive legitimate information from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) or the World Health Organization (WHO). Message from the tax office!  

Mail all payments and/or tax rebate forms directly to the tax office. They will be processed with receipts and/or finished forms and will be mailed back to you.  Taxes can be viewed and paid online thru the Township’s website or make payments by phone at 866-572-9477. Please call 728-9800, ext 282 or 285 for any questions.  Our next tax quarter is May and all payments are due by May 10.  We currently do not have any information from the State regarding the Homestead Rebate. REQUESTS FOR POLICE REPORTS:

CALL POLICE RECORDS ANY DAY FROM 8:00AM – 4:30PM MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY AND WE CAN EMAIL, FAX OR U.S. MAIL YOU A “REQUEST A REPORT FORM”.  ONCE THE FORM IS FILLED OUT, SEND IT BACK TO US WITH A COPY OF YOUR DRIVERS LICENSE, WE WILL RESEARCH YOUR REQUEST AND IF AVAILABLE/RELEASEABLE, FILL YOUR REQUEST PROMPLY BY EMAIL, FAX OR U.S. MAIL.

MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH REPORT:

PLEASE LOG ON TO WWW.CRASHDOCS.ORG AND YOU WILL NEED TO PROVIDE YOUR DATE OF CRASH, LAST NAME AND CASE NUMBER (202000XXXX – NO SPACES OR DASHES) PLEASE ALLOW AT LEAST 7-10 DAYS FROM THE CRASH TO GET THE INFORMATION.

TOWED/IMPOUNDED VEHICLE RELEASES:

PLEASE USE THE BOX ON THE WALL TO ADVISE COUNTY DISPATCH THAT YOU ARE HERE TO PICK UP A TOW RELEASE.  BE PREPARED TO TELL THEM THE DATE OF IMPOUND, REGISTERED OWNERS NAME, REASON FOR IMPOUND AND A CELL PHONE NUMBER.  A RECORDS STAFF MEMBER WILL CALL YOU BACK IF ADDITIONAL INFORMATON IS NEEDED TO RELEASE THE VEHICLE.  IF NOTHING ELSE IS NEEDED, THEN A POLICE OFFICER WILL BE DISPATCHED TO PROVIDE YOU WITH YOUR RELEASE.

MAIL YOUR COMPLETED APPLICATION (PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR PHONE NUBMER) WITH A $4.00 CHECK (PAYABLE TO NJMV) TO MONROE TOWNSHIP POLICE RECORDS, 125 VIRGINIA AVENUE, WILLIAMSTOWN, NJ 08094.  ONCE YOUR APPLICATON IS RECEIVED IT WILL BE PROCESSED AND MAILED BACK TO YOUR HOME ADDRESS.
