Records Support Technician 1 ~ Police Department
Positions in this title perform routine clerical work within a structured work setting. Incumbents work under close supervision with clearly defined guidelines and operating procedures. Under direction performs a variety of clerical tasks which involve computing, classifying, verifying, and recording data and the reconciliation of accounts, records, and documents; does other related duties as required. Computer literate, phone skills, and strong communication skills are required. Example of some software applications used are Edmunds, Word and Excel. Must have excellent customer service skills. Must be able to multi-task.

EXAMPLES OF WORK:
- Receives, screens, reviews and verifies documents. Reviews and checks assigned reports, applications, and other documents for corrections and completeness; refers problems to a lead worker or supervisor for resolution.
- Sorts, indexes, and files checks, cash stubs, vouchers, requisitions and other materials, numerically, alphabetically, or according to other predetermined classification; maintains such files.
- Receives applications, documents, forms and fees; screens, sorts and assembles this information for further processing. Including outside mail.
- Assembles materials and forms for distribution as directed. Hand stamps letters, papers, and other documents.
- Provides general, routine information in person and over the telephone; refers complicated or non-routine inquiries to appropriate staff.
- May enter and/or retrieve information on a computer terminal. May perform keyboarding/typing duties.
- May assist in requisitioning, storing, and distributing office supplies.
- Operates various types of office and mail processing machines such as a keyboard equipment, calculators, computer printers, sorter, photo-copier, fax machine, stamping machine, labeling machine, etc.; may perform simple maintenance tasks such as adding toner, paper or changing ribbons.
- Prepares routine reports or assists in the preparation of reports by gathering data, tabulating results, and/or preparing simple charts. Maintains records and files.
- Will be required to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and computerized information systems used by the agency, office, or related units.
- When assigned to a law enforcement agency, may be required to take and file fingerprints; types fingerprint cards of persons committed to jail, or persons applying for firearm permits.
- When assigned to a law enforcement agency, learns to perform specialized clerical work involving the obtaining, receiving, disseminating, filing, maintaining and releasing of criminal and other law enforcement records.
REQUIREMENTS:
All open lateral positions in any department shall be offered to current employees before the hiring of new employees. One (1) year or more of experience in clerical work preferred.

TRUCK DRIVER
NOTE: The description of work illustrates the daily functional responsibilities for the job title of Truck Driver specific to the Sanitation Division with the Public works Department. A particular position using this title may not perform all duties listed in this job specification. Conversely, all duties performed on the job may not be listed.
Under direction, drives a truck with a single axle to transport nonhazardous materials. Picks up, loads truck, and delivers materials of varied types; does other related work. The Sanitation Truck Driver could also be assigned to other “driver” and “laborer” duties within the department
Receives written and/or oral assignments and drives trucks of varied types.
Operates snow removal equipment to keep roads clear. May assist with the repair and installation of snowplows, spreaders and perform other ice control work.
Performs minor repairs and adjustments on truck. Supplies trucks with gas, oil, and water; keeps garage clean and in order, and keeps records of trips. Checks, cleans, greases, washes, and performs the required adjustments to trucks and other auxiliary equipment.
When not engaged in driving a truck or other equipment, may perform other work such as road and landscape construction, building maintenance and repair work, groundskeeping, laboring, or other unskilled work.
LICENSE & REQUIREMENTS: Appointees will be required to possess a driver’s license valid in New Jersey and a CDL is required. Must have (1) year of experience w/single axle.

RATES: Truck Driver $24.49 per hour. Truck Driver w/CDL A $25.06 per hour.
