ANNOUNCEMENTS

Primary Election In-Person Early Voting – May 29, 2024 thru June 2, 2024 – Monroe Township Public Library

In-Person Early Voting in New Jersey is here!

In 2021, historic legislation established in-person early voting in New Jersey. This law makes our state even more voter-friendly and strengthens our democracy by expanding opportunities to exercise your right to vote. This new option allows registered voters to cast their ballot in person, using a voting machine, during the designated voting period prior to Election Day. You can now choose to vote, in person, when it is most convenient for your schedule.

Gloucester County will provide registered voters with this option for the June 4, 2024 Primary Election. Gloucester County will have five (5) in-person early voting locations (see below) that will be open Wednesday, May 29, 2024 through Sunday, June 2, 2024. Hours will be Wednesday-Saturday, 10:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m. and Sunday, 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. No appointment is necessary.

The Township of Monroe is pleased to announce the acquisition of a parcel of land that is adjacent to the Monroe Township Bike Path and will be converted to a parking area providing access to the trail for residents & visitors.  Located on Sykes Lane, off Tuckahoe Road, this will be a convenient location for runners, bikers, and walkers to access the trail. Thanks to the joint efforts of the Township Council, the Environmental Commission, the Open Space Advisory Committee, and Sustainable Monroe Township, in achieving this goal for the community.  As part of the Circuit Trails, (https://circuittrails.org/) this 6.36 mile multi use paved trail begins on the Monroe side on Bluebell Rd, across from the Monroe Township Police Dept, and parallels Rt 322 and ends at RT 47 in Glassboro.  Monroe Township’s “Salem” oak, a seedling tree from a 500-year-old oak will be our first addition this spring.  Come out with the family and/or friends to enjoy the scenery and solitude of this wonderful multipurpose trail.
