Department of Public Works Parks & Recreation Department
EXAMPLES OF WORK
• Maintains athletic fields;
• Prepares fields for games and other events;
• Maintains common area cleanliness;
• Performs landscape maintenance;
• Maintains recreation facilities to include general janitorial duties;
• Operates Parks & Recreation equipment such as lawn tractors, mowers and trucks;
• Cuts grass, trims hedges, loads and unloads trucks, shovels, cuts down trees, destroys vines, weeds and undergrowth, digs out stumps/ manual grading, sweeps streets and sidewalks
• Occasionally drives trucks
• Maintains and makes minor repairs to equipment;
• Assists in semi-skilled work by handling tools, carrying or lifting objects and performing simple repairs;
• Performs a variety of other heavy manual work in connection with maintenance of athletic fields and landscape areas;
• Collects and disposes of debris, trash, etc.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

LICENSE
Appointees will be required to possess a driver’s license valid in New Jersey.
RATE: $23.10 per hour.
